If you never changed your ideology, chances are, you don't have it because you compared it diligently, evaluated it's axioms and found it to be solid.
Chances are you have it because it is convenient (mostly because your social circle is part of it too) and you expect advantages from holding it.
And that's fine.
Just don't engage in profound discussion about it then, because you'll have no choice but to get angry and assume that those holding different views must be dumb and/or evil.
