"We are all one" sounds a lot better than "Us versus them", but let's take a closer look, shall we:
First of all, two dimensions need to be differentiated, the physical and the metaphysical.
Are we all one on the metaphysical plane? Maybe. Are we all one on the physical plane? Most certainly not.
While we are in this material experience we are divided and therefore individuals. There is no denying it. And even if there was the most tremendous connection, connection itself is a relationship between parts. When all is one, there is no such thing as connection.
We are always divided in the material world, the question is how.
And that's where it gets interesting. We are divided into a variety of groups that don't matter. Man/woman, white/black, right/left etc etc
But what if there's a true division that matters? A division we cannot afford to ignore?
We are constantly distracted by the divisions that don't matter from the one that does matter:
predators versus non-predators.
A predator is someone who violates other people’s individual rights (theft, assault, rape, murder).
A society, if the term has any meaning at all, is a collective effort to fight predators and protect individual rights.
In essence, this is nothing but the fight between good and evil on the material plane:
Good men fighting those who prey on others.
But by distracting us with far less important divisions, evil has lured its opponent away from the battlefield.
We fight wars with millions of innocent victims instead of organizing resistance against predators in high and low places.
Left/right may be the most powerful of all low-inportance divisions we waste our time with.
We care if our supposed representantative is left or right when all we should care about is whether he's a predator or not.
Denying division and claiming we are all one isn’t helping. We need to return to focusing on the one division that matters.
Good vs evil.
Of course evil has done amazing work confusing us about what good and evil really are, when it is the most obvious thing in the world.
We are so confused about it in fact, that our societies instead of being a defense against predators, have become instruments of predators.
Societies that stop hunting predators and defending individual rights will be owned by predators, eventually.
