I take on a small number of nonprofit accounting clients directly, and I have room for a couple right now.
What I do: get your books 990-ready. Functional expense allocation, restricted fund tracking, a clean account structure. I have an accounting degree and roughly 17 years doing this inside foundations and charities. Right now I'm doing a full re-build of books for an organization in Colorado.
I work leaner than a traditional firm, which means faster turnarounds and lower cost.
A lot of nonprofits haven't been ignoring their books. They've handed them off and hoped for the best, and at some point the numbers stop adding up. I put them back in order and explain them, so you actually understand what you're looking at.
