Anyone ever try eating Japanese Knotweed(Reynoutria Japonica)? I’m pretty sure this shoot is it. It’s an incredibly invasive weed in these parts and can choke out almost anything.
But I’ve heard it’s edible. And not only that delectable as well.
It’s wild seeing that some plants that are weeds in my world are important foods in others. Thinking of Burdock and Plantain off the top of my head.
I like to try eating the wild plants around me. It keeps me connected to a different rhythm than what a grocery store can offer.
And it’s valuable knowledge to have if grocery stores are not an option right?
