This is the 2nd week in a row I have a Sun due out from my home terminal back to Mt Sterling & my due out is postponed b/c a lack of trailers. Last week I was up at 7am, due out was pushed back to 11pm & I drove through the night to barely make my appt 🤬

It's frustrating, especially when they expect you to lay in your bed for 8 hours to reset your elogs while you're wide awake. Driving a semi truck whilst fatigued from lack of sleep is dangerous/not fun. If the same thing happens today Ima be super pissed!
Plus, this tomfoolery flips your sleep schedule upside down.. pretty typical in trucking but it should be illegal to force someone to sleep while they've already had 8 hours of sleep only to turn around and hit the road when they'd normally be sleeping.
I hear ya on that. I work a twilight shift and there are times when it sucks. Every terminal has its issues apparently. We lack equipment on the daily. If it isn't pups, its 51 series, or containers or contracts. Oh, and brains. We lack that as well. 😂
lmao I'm coming to find those lacking brains in the trucking industry is not abnormal whatsoever. In a short amount of time I have seen some of the dumbest shit people in trucks do while driving down the road. Like driving 80mph and tailgating a minivan
with an entire family inside. MuH LOaD Is SO IMpORtANT. fucking aye man, it's mental out here.
Yeah, scary stuff. Semis everywhere in So Cal. I work for the big brown box company on the dock and sometimes jockey. Only interest to drive locally would be to get a better shift. Going on 17 yrs this August.
Dang 17 years, that's a good long while with the same company. My company has a DC in Modesto. If you ever are interested a referral lmk. It's a good company, pay is good, benies are good. You could throw groceries locally and make over 100k in first 2 yrs
actually come to think, you’d make prolly more due to cost of living being higher in socal, a lot more.
Goal was initially 15 years vested then work elsewhere trying to get another pension. Im kind of between a rock and hard place. Local 63 Teamster, every 5 yrs get contractual upgrades. Another 13 yrs, I'll be 52. Every additional working yr is like $130...
towards my monthly pension. God forbid, I'm still around, I can retire with my house paid off, a steady cash flow and travel.
god forbid or god willing!? you’re light years ahead of me m8. your story is inspirational bro, and i pray you see that retirement fulfilled with zero debt and a suitcase packed for endless adventures 🙏 i wish i’d planned for my future better!
Lol, yes, god willing. 🙏🏻
😅😅😅😅 i thought that’s what you meant. twetch immutability be damned!! 😂
Yeah, immutable. Now I'll live the rest of my life dodging obstacles like Final Destination cause God got jokes.
😂
he’s pulling one on me rn, this beginning of this thread has come to fruition and i’m due out at midnight. that gives me between now and around 11pm to sleep and i’m not tired. fml i need to put the phone down *now* 😫
Great some rest, brother. I'm working now. Have a good night and be safe out there.
