@2540 Any plans to implement AppImage/.deb packages for easy Linux installation?

Just upgraded and it's Pip Dependency Hell. Of course a proper virtualenv fixes this but it's beyond the scope of most users.

Enjoying the latest bugfixes though <3

Same here. I've been postponing ElectrumSV installation for the same reason. It's been a few months now lol.

@34 What a bummer! I fixed it by spinning up a venv w/pip19+ but only a Python developer would think to do so :(

Imho we're beyond the era of Linux as a second-class citizen, especially in crypto. It's accessible enough now that non-techies use it.

When I was still with Exodus, we'd get support contact every other day about Linux installer issues.

The userbase is there, even if it's only 10% of desktop clients.

@2540 AppImage would be ideal since it's containerized :D

No, this would consume an inordinate amount of our limited resources. If you choose the complexity of Linux, you choose the complexity of it's problems. A maintainable pull request for a cherry-pick of the Electrum AppImage changes is welcome. -- rt12

Most of the people who come to me with Linux problems do not understand it. Linux is a second class user experience if you do not have a nominal level of system administration skills, because it inherently needs it. -- rt12
