If you think, that bitcoins consensus mechanism is all about hashrate and therefore "brute force", why don;t you just follow our current governments?
They are all about "brute force" and "the strongest guy is always right".
Maybe because "honesty", which was mentioned 16 times in the bitcoin whitepaper seems to play a role.
