I completely disagree: In my opinion magic is the intent to interfere with the nature of things and make "the universe" cater to us.
It's the wet dream of the ego: gaining advantages without doing the necessary work and with zero regard for the consequences (especially for others).
But even worse, it comes from a place of fear and lack: It's the opposite of gratefulness and love. It's the ego illusion that everything we've been given isn't enough and that we should have more without doing anything to deserve it.

Work is the way to change reality, not tricks and shortcuts that have unforeseeable consequences.

Is not "doing the necessary work" solely for the ego to change things also interfering with the nature of things?
I see a clear difference between work, which is using the God-given nature and getting from it what we deserve and magic, which is an attempt to change reality to our advantage without deserving it, with consequences we can't possibly foresee, since we didn't create the world and have no idea how any of it works.
If everything is one then there is no such thing as theft or robbery. Murder is just suicide and rape is nothing but masturbation.
