On “ETH L1 isn’t usable / Vitalik says L2s are flawed”
- ETH L1 is too expensive for per-prompt writes, yes. It’s still excellent as an anchor (owner, policy, occasional checkpoints).
- I don’t know of a quote where Buterin says “relying on L2s is flawed.” He has raised valid concerns (centralized sequencers, fragmentation, shared-security design), and discussed potential enshrinement/minimal L1 support to improve L2 properties. The broad roadmap remains rollup-centric.
