I don't know many people that love (the taste of) Medlar fruits but I do and so I cultivated a few (10+) more of them. These are one of the fastest growing trees that I have for the moment and normally they will bear fruits in about 3-4 years.

If you don't like the fruits, you can use the kernels to create "Nespolino" which is a traditional amaretto-like liqueur.

Infuse about 100-120 dried and crushed seeds in 1L of a neutral alcohol like Vodka, a cup of water and about 500gr. of sugar. This will produce a sweet, nutty and aromatic digestif.
