If Iran's Fordow nuclear facility is bombed and the stored nuclear materials detonated, it will be a nuclear disaster in the Middle East: Within 1 kilometer radius, radiation levels would be fatal (Estimated fatalities: 94,870). Within 5 kilometer, people would experience severe radiation sickness (Estimated injuries: 760,250), in about 1 month, 15% of survivors will eventually die of cancer and organ failure as a result of exposure. Up to 20 kilometers, increased risk of cancer, birth defects, third degree burns extend throughout the layers of skin. Worst part, winds could carry radioactive dust to even neighboring countries, causing long-term contamination, of water and soil. Hundreds of thousands could be forced to evacuate for years. We are discussing human bodies-the bodies of men, women and kids-being incinerated in an instant, followed by an untold number of agonizing deaths in a long nuclear summer. Remember Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Remember Chernobyl. Remember Bikini and Enewetak Atolls in the Marshall Islands, people are still dying from cancer today! Is the world truly prepared to face such consequences?
